Behind The Chair
Hi, I’m Sonya Rae owner of Oxford and Mane.
As a professional colorist and hair designer, I believe hair should feel effortless. My work is rooted in the art and science of combining color theory, chemistry, and creativity to bring out the best in every client.
From subtle highlights that enhance natural tones to bold, vibrant hues straight out of a fantasy novel, I design custom looks that complement your features and reflect your personal style.
I’ve spent more than 15 years in this industry, wearing many hats from stylist to mentor to educator. Each role has shaped the way I approach my craft today.
As a former Technical Advisor for Oligo, I trained extensively with their Calura color line which I now use exclusively. This professional color is ammonia free, PPD free, consistently delivering shine, vibrancy and gentle results for all hair types, even the most sensitive scalps.
Alongside color, I create low maintenance cuts and styles that grow out seamlessly and are easy to recreate at home.
When I’m not behind the chair, you’ll find me curled up with a book, working on a craft project, or enjoying life with my two dogs, Atlas and Apollo.

Oxford & Mane also houses two independent stylist Angela and Melody, who are not currently accepting new guests.
For guests who prefer a completely private salon experience, you are welcome to request your appointment on days when our space is quieter.
At Oxford & Mane, we offer silent appointments by request. These visits skip the small talk and keep conversation only to your hair, giving you the freedom to relax, read, listen to music, work, or simply enjoy the quiet. It’s also a great option if constant conversation feels overwhelming. We’re happy to create a peaceful, comfortable space for you.
Additional accommodations are always welcome, guests are encouraged to share any request to help make your visit more comfortable.
